How your wig fits you is extremely important not only for your wig to look as natural as possible but also for your comfort and confidence. Measuring for your ideal wig size just takes a few easy steps, or come into Ms. Opal’s Wigs and our professional stylists can take care of it for you while you shop for the perfect wig!
Take out the Tape
To measure your own head for your wig, start with a flexible tape measure, like one made out of cloth but not stretched out. Place the tape in the center of your forehead and hairline, then bring the tape up and over the center of your head to the back of your neck at the nape. Take note of the number. If you do not have hair or it is thinning, you can also use your index, third and ring finger to determine where your hairline should start on your forehead (at the top of the three fingers).
Ear to Ear
Next, place the tape measure about a half-inch above your ear crease between your ear and head, like where your sunglasses rest. Bring the tape measure up and across your head to the same place just above your other ear. This measurement style resembles a headband. Write down this number. Then place the tape measure where you started, at the center of your forehead’s hairline. Bring the tape around the circumference of your head to meet the start of the tape. And finally, start the tape measure at one of your temples, bring the tape around the back of your head to the other temple.
With these measurements, you should be able to order a wig or at least have a rough idea of your wig size. To get professionally sized and fitted, call Ms. Opal’s Wigs at (561) 865-0330 or stop in and see us any time.
